RIFT BETWEEN SAINT GOVERNMENT
RIFT BETWEEN SAINT GOVERNMENT
Shankaracharya of four backs will not go
Saint angry, dispute after dispute
CHHOTA AKHBAR.
Controversy is increasing in the Sant Samaj
against the government's interference in the Pran Pratistha Mahotsav of Lord
Shri Ram in Ayodhya. Shankaracharyas of four Peethas have refused to go there.
Along with him, his followers also. Here, Champat Rai, General Secretary of
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, added fuel to the fire of the
controversy by saying that the temple does not belong to Shaiva Shaktas and
Sannyasis. He belongs to Ramanand sect. On this, Allahabad scholar Shashikant
on the contrary targeted Champat Rai that if the temple belongs to Ramanand
sect then what is the Sangh doing here. Champat Rai, do not work to divide
Sanatan Dharma. Here Champat Rai is forgetting that saints are the beauty of
every temple. Without them, the temple does not seem like a temple at all. What
Champat Rai said is his pettiness because these Shankaracharyas never said that
the particular monastery to which they belong belongs only to that particular
sect. But this fault is not of Champat Rai alone, the tone of good people
changes as soon as they come in contact with the ruling power. Champat Rai also
changed.
Therefore, there is resentment among the saints
that this festival has been made a political arena, and also that the
government is unnecessarily interfering in it. Apart from this, all the
Shankaracharyas are not considering this Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav as per the
religious principles. The news of all these displeasures are being published in
many newspapers of Delhi and UP for the last ten-fifteen days.
It is mentioned in Ramayana that Rama had
worshiped Lord Shiva and married his wife before attacking Lanka. To complete
that puja, Ravana himself brought Sita. Since Ravana was a great scholar, he
knew that without the presence of Sita, Ram's Shiva worship would not be
meaningful. He did not let the puja be interrupted and brought Sita back.
Similarly, when Lord Brahma performed the Srishti Yagya, he also considered the
presence of Bharya in Vamang as essential and when his wife Savitri was not
able to come, he gave significance to the Yagya by giving Gayatri the status of
his wife. Now there is also a controversy regarding PM Modi in the Pran
Pratistha Mahotsav of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya. The angry saint does not
consider this as scriptural. We all also believe in what the saints are saying
but are silent here.
Whatever be the type of worship, it is neither
complete nor considered sufficient without the desired wish. The word puja
itself has a feminine connotation, hence any type of puja without a wife has no
meaning. Now in such a situation, many accomplished men of the country have
refused to go to Ayodhya for the Pran Pratistha Mahotsav of Lord Shri Ram.
Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati of Govardhan Puri Peeth,
Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati of Paschimannaya Dwarka
Sharda Peeth, Jagatguru Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati and
Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Bharti of Sringeri Sharda Peeth will not go to
Bharti Teerth along with them.
The strangest thing here is that the saints will
have to take permission from the government to visit Shri Ram temple in
Ayodhya. The entry of saints is prohibited on the day Modi is there. Saints can
go for darshan on the next day.
Swami Nischalanand Saraswati had already said in
strong words why I should go there to applaud. A tomb is being built here, not
a temple. He clearly said that the position of Shankaracharya is not lower than
that of the President and the Prime Minister, after which a day later he
ordered us to visit the temple. Our place is the highest on earth. We will not
go there to maintain the dignity and glory of our post. We are not abstaining
from Shri Ram but we are abstaining from the politics of crooked leaders.
Jagatguru Shankaracharya of Sharda Peeth, Swami Sadanand Saraswati said that
since the temple is not completely built, there is no justification for
consecration of life. Anyway, this work is not appropriate in the month of
Paush. All this is politically motivated because by the time Ram Navami comes,
the code of conduct will be implemented due to the Lok Sabha elections, due to
which BJP will not get any political benefit from it. That is why BJP is
getting this done.
Even Jagatguru Shankaracharya
Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati will not go. He even said in a harsh tone that in
the Vedas it is prohibited to get this work done by anyone else instead of the
saints. Still the government is behaving against religion. On the other hand,
Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Bharati Teerth of Sringeri Sharda Peeth also
refused. He also says that life consecration in the under construction temple
is completely unethical conduct. He sarcastically asked whether Swami
Nischalanand Saraswati had presented the proof in the court about the existence
of Ram temple here in order to see this day, had Nischalanand Saraswati fought
this battle in the court for 20-25 years for this very day?
Overall, there is discord in the Sadhu community
regarding this Pran Pratistha Mahotsav. Some are with the government and some
are firm on their principles. Here, well-known poet Kumar Vishwas also quipped
that this Pran Pratistha Mahotsav is nothing but politics.
Now secondly, whether it is the government or
the king, the consecration in any temple is done through a Pandit and not by
himself. Emperor Ashoka had also built hundreds of temples in the country, he
too had the idols installed in the temples by a priest and not by himself. Now
here the PM is doing it himself, so this is not according to the scriptures,
this is what the saints are saying. Apart from this, the one who has accepted
sainthood in his life, he alone has the right to worship, but the one who is
living a worldly life should worship the idol of God, this is not the best.
This is arrogance which usually every person does and the same mistake is being
made here. Citing these reasons, these knowledgeable sages refused to
participate in this Pran Pratistha Mahotsav. Now it is also true that those who
are saints but are participating in this Pratistha Mahotsav are doing so only
to please PM Modi. This is not a feeling of saintliness but a selfish feeling
which is not there in a "sadhu". Now the remaining leaders, be they
from party or opposition, will definitely come for the PM but the reality is
that it would have been better if this event was in accordance with religious
principles.
