IT AGAINST DECORUM FOR PM MODI TO TOUCH THAT STATUE -SHANKARACHARYA
IT AGAINST DECORUM FOR PM MODI TO TOUCH THAT
STATUE -SHANKARACHARYA
CHHOTA AKHBAR.
Puri's Shankaracharya Swami Nischalanand
Saraswati recently announced that he will not participate in the
Pran-Pratishtha Mahotsav of Ram Lalla. He has expressed strong objection that
Modi should touch the idol of Lord Shri Ram there and I should stand there and
clap, this cannot happen. This is against decorum. Yesterday in Ratlam, Swami
Nischalanand Saraswati said that PM Modi touching that idol is against decorum.
Therefore, they cannot witness such violation of decorum. I received an
invitation that I could attend the event with only one person. The kind of
politics that is happening in Ram temple should not happen.
Let us tell you that Swami Nischalanand is a saint of Puri who has followers both in the country and abroad. He is the only saint in the world from whom even the United Nations and the World Bank have taken advice. On 18 April 1974, at the age of 31, he attained the Sannyasa of Dharma Samrat Karpatri Maharaj in Haridwar. After that he was named Nischalananda Saraswati. He is the 145th Shankaracharya of Govardhan Math Puri.
Whatever Swami Nischalanand Saraswati had
said, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand also said the same thing. He also
said that Ram Mandir should not be made an arena of politics. He had also said
that this event should have been held on the day of Ram Navami. Now the PM
bypassed the trust formed by Shankaracharyas and Dharmacharyas and formed a new
trust in which he appointed his people, this is not a contribution. There are
still 17 days left for this event and before that, new controversies are
arising one after the other, what will happen in future, nothing can be said
yet. And at the end of the day, Modi himself wants to be consecrated, this is politics.
If he had chosen a saint for this, it would have been his best. In such a
situation, the question of any ifs and buts does not arise.
